Dinner is a large scale video and sculpture instalation that was temporarily intalled in the Davis Gym at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University n Alfred, New York, May, 2010. The Materials inluded 30 telivision monitors, a video, a dining room table and chairs, plastic dishes, remotes, plastic spheres, and paint.
Taking a look at the effects of media and technology on interpersonal communication in contemporary culture, Dinner explores the forgotten experience of a family dinner shared around the table. Once considered the heart of the home in mainstream culture, the dinning table and the experiences associated with it have slowly been replaced through other means of communication and entertainment.
